Current list of Cleveland Metroparks' location-specific closures and restrictions:

Bedford Reservation

  • Beginning April 23, 2026 - Parallel Universe II will be closed to pedestrians and bicyclists due to trail maintenance and construction of a boardwalk. Expected to reopen by end of summer.

Lakefront Reservation

  • Beginning March 26, 2026 - Gordon Park - South will be closed for construction. Expected to reopen in Summer 2027.

Ohio & Erie Canal Reservation

  • Lights are out at along the Towpath Trail from Holmden Avenue to Canal Basin Park.

Rocky River Reservation

  • The hill within Little Met Golf Course does not contain sanctioned trails and is therefore off limits to public access. 
  • Beginning May 6, 2026 - The shoreline stabilization project in the river adjacent to the Rocky River Nature Center has begun. The All Purpose Trail at Big Cedar Point Picnic Area, between Valley Parkway Bridge and Cedar Point Road, will be closed between 6am and 6pm, Monday through Friday, to allow construction equipment to access the project site.

South Chagrin Reservation

  • Beginning November 3, 2025 - Hawthorn Parkway between Harper and Cannon Road will be closed for bridge maintenance. Expected reopening is October 6, 2026.

Washington Reservation

  • Beginning October 15, 2024 – The Arborview Picnic Shelter will have limited parking and access to picnic shelter, playground facility and general ground for a Northeast Ohio Sewer District Construction project. Expected completion is August 31, 2028.

West Creek Reservation

  • West Ridgewood Dr. Between State Road and Broadview Road is closed for bridge replacement on West Ridgewood Drive. West Creek Reservation and the Watershed Stewardship Center are accessible from Broadview Road coming from the East on West Ridgewood Road. Detour directions: If coming to the Park on West Ridgewood from the west, Follow the detour signs north on State Road, turn right (East) on Snow Road, turn Right (South) on Broadview Road, turn right (West) on West Ridgewood Road. Expected reopening is September 2026.
